The Building Hope Breakfast is a signature fundraising event for Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity. As a corporate sponsor of this annual event, you make it possible to build hope and change lives.

The Building Hope Breakfast will be held this fall on October 22, 2014. Through this event, Habitat will gain support from the local community to “OPEN DOORS” for low-income families who are dedicated to improving their family’s day-to-day lives through purchasing affordable homes.

All sponsors will be featured in event blog posts, recognized on the website and social media, and will receive special seating and acknowledgement at the event. Below are the details outlining sponsorship levels.

  • Keystone $1,000+: Logo placement on the website, on pre- and post-event communications, and on the video display during the event.

  • Keynote $500-$999: Logo placement on the website and on pre- and post-event communications.

  • Key Holder $250-$499: Logo placement on the website.

Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat for Humanity (DPCHFH) is seeking an Assistant ReStore Manger. This is an exciting opportunity to work with the current Manager, help build ReStore, assist in the move to a new location, and potentially take over as ReStore Manager in 2015. This is a part-time position requiring 24 hours per week and paying $960 per month. A full position description is available below. Danville-Pittsylvania County Habitat ReStore Assistant Manager

Habitat for Humanity International is a non-profit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry. The purpose and goal of Habitat for Humanity International is to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Habitat invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses in partnership with families in need.

Job Description

Job summary:
Support the Habitat ReStore Manager in the administration of resources in a professional manner assuring that the income over expenses meets and/or exceeds that goal established by the board. This is to be accomplished in part by managing personnel and expenses and soliciting sales and donations. The Restore Assistant Manager reports directly to the ReStore Manager and carries out duties and tasks assigned by the Manager. In the absence of the Manager, the Assistant Manager acts as the Manager.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Supports DPCHFH ReStore operations to achieve goals within budget and with available personnel.

  • Assists in development and implementation of programs to enhance sales, salvage, product acquisition, marketing and advertising integrated with local and national strategies.

  • Provide high quality, consistent customer service experience in the Habitat ReStore and ensure issues are professionally resolved and reported in a timely basis.

  • As directed, schedules and assists with donation pick-ups in a timely manner convenient to the donor.

  • Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, local and HFH regulations.

  • When requested, promotes DPCHFH and the ReStore to various special interest groups, other businesses, churches and others.

  • Assists Store Manager in responsibility for the store

  • Consistently creates a welcoming environment for the customer by greeting and assisting; as well as quickly responding to customer inquiries and needs

  • Assists Store Manager with providing a strong leadership presence and control in store, while ensuring that all customers receive good service and quality merchandise

  • Regularly communicates with Store Manager to discuss strengths, opportunities, and trends in business

  • Ensures all pricing, signage, and displays are correct at all times

  • Performs all duties as directed by supervisor

  • Knowledge, skills and abilities:

  • Ability to plan, organize and oversee implementation of  goals and objectives, including monitoring work assignments, developing and monitoring budgets and evaluating the work of subordinates.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with subordinates, staff, volunteers and the general public.

  • Position requires a high school degree or equivalent.

  • Demonstrated history of being a self- starter and the ability to respond to high standards of customer  service and satisfaction

  • Retail, service, and/or moving experience a plus.

  • Demonstrate reasonable familiarity with building materials. 

  • Exhibit strong organizational skills, accuracy and good record keeping when dealing with financial transactions.

  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds, squat, bend and stand for extended periods
